Shredding PDF Print E-mail
Main Purpose:
We shred products to:
  • Minimize storage costs, as the space needed for storage is reduced
  • Minimize transportation costs - more tons/m3
  • Prepare it for automatic sorting lines e.g. E-scrap and mixed solid waste (MSW)
  • Prepare it for burning stations e.g. burning waste with coal
We divide shredding into 3 different stages:
Shredding:                          Purpose: to break down large pieces into smaller pieces e.g. down to 250-100 mm. Products can be metal, wood,
                                          plastic, E-scrap, MSW, etc.

Roto-grinding:                      Is very often used for making smaller pieces e.g. down to approx. 5 mm. The roto-grind can be used for “clean”
products like wood (without nails etc.), plastic, waste without metals, paper, etc.

Granulating:                         Like the roto-grind, but can handle non-fragile pieces, for instance pieces of metal e.g. nails in wood, E-scrap,
white goods, tyres incl. wires, MSW with pieces of metal, etc. Fraction size: down to approx. 10 mm.
